How do I submit and manage change requests during a project?

Learn how to request design changes, review designer quotes, and manage approvals directly from your project workspace.

When collaborating with a CAD designer on Gildform, you can submit change requests at any point during the project. These requests allow you to update your design specifications after the initial project has started.

How to Submit a Change Request

  1. Go to your project dashboard.

  2. Select the Tracking Changes tab.

  3. Click + New Request.

  4. Choose a Request Category (e.g., “Design Changes”).

  5. Describe your requested changes in detail so your designer understands exactly what you want.

  6. Click Submit Request.

What Happens Next

  • Your designer reviews the request.

  • If the designer agrees to make the change, they’ll send you:

    • A quoted cost for completing the update.

    • An estimated lead time for delivery.

  • If the designer declines the change, it will show in your "Denied" section.

Accepting or Denying a Designer’s Quote

  • To approve the change:

    1. Click Review & Pay when the quote is submitted.

    2. Confirm your payment method or add a new one.

    3. Click Pay to authorize the additional cost.

  • To deny the change:
Simply click Deny and your project will continue without the requested modifications.

Tracking Your Change Requests

You can track all submitted change requests within the Tracking Changes tab under three statuses:

  • Pending → Awaiting designer response.

  • Approved → Changes accepted, paid for, and in progress.

  • Denied → Designer declined or you rejected the cost.

Tip

Submitting detailed, clear requests speeds up approval and reduces back-and-forth with your designer.
