I'm having issues with understanding Weight, Wearability, Scale, Cost and Manufacturability. Help?!

We've included some tips and tools to help you understand the very crucial W.W.S.C.M rules.

When designing your jewelry, you must always consider the W.W.S.C.M rules in each design. When just starting out these rules can take some time getting the hang of but rest assured, #TeamGildform has your back.

Check out the tips below for more guidance on the matter.

1. Get a digital caliper! This will help you visualize and communicate the size of your pieces.

You can purchase a digital caliper here.

The cost of producing your jewelry is largely dependent upon the size (volume and surface area) of your pieces, which can only be determined in the design stage when you specify the dimensions. We recognize that this can feel like the chicken or the egg dilemma when first starting, but it is very necessary as your pricing is unique to your 3D model.

Keep in mind that pricing is based solely on your unique 3D model and pricing will change depending on the market.

There is no way that we can predict or estimate the cost of producing your jewelry, prior to uploading your completed and approved 3D model on the Gildform.

Once you upload your 3D model you will receive instant quantity-based pricing, to the metal market.

Try uploading each of the sample cube 3D models on Gildform to estimate the pricing based on the specifications (material, plating, polish and assembly) and quantities.

Remember: This is NOT the pricing for producing your designs. Your pricing is based on the exact 3D model that you approve and/or upload. The only way to receive pricing for producing your design is to upload your 3D model that will be used in production.
